Have you heard this yet?
Howdy, pal.
As you've probably figured out by now, I love writing about story.
I love writing stories.
I also love talking about story.
Geez, I just love conversation so much, and let's face it, so much of our conversations contain story. It's how we get to know one another, to learn from each other, to learn more about ourselves.
It might not surprise you that I used to have my own podcast that was rooted in conversation. Pig&Vine Radio was a sister project to the wine blog Pig&Vine that I told you about a couple of days ago.
On it I interviewed artists, chefs, writers, musicians, and wine experts about their craft and their experience with wine while we drank a bottle of wine together. It was hella fun, and like the blog, now archived offline.
Fortunately, I frequent as a guest on other people's podcasts, and I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you today.
Captivate + Convert with Christy Cegelski (episodes 67 & 68) was a lot of fun to do. We talked about story—duh—in both business and also in our heads, as in the stories we tell ourselves. We even got into microdosing and its effects on our wellbeing (it helped change the not well internal narratives into well ones).
On The Copywriter Club podcast (episode #267) I talked with Kira Hug about breaking the rules to make your own rules when building a business —a perpetual conversation that is ever-changing and ever-evolving. And I drop my two cents on how sales calls are really just conversations and how my approach makes it way easier to close the right deals.
One of my absolute favorites to date is my candid conversation with Angie Colee on her Permission to Kick Ass podcast (episode #76) where I share my not-so-sexy tale of how I got to running the solopreneur copywriting biz I own today. It's not an easy path, and sometimes it ain't pretty, but it's 100% worth it.
You can check out all the podcasts I've guested on my media page. I bet you find some nuggets, and if you have a podcast you'd like my nuggets on or know someone who has a great podcast I should check out, please hit reply and tell me!
I never get tired of talking.
Said the stand-up comedian.
Okay, ciao for now, my friend.
Gurgles for the vocals,
Amy
